antispamlaw

Reading the title or clicking on the Page title in the nav section you would be forgiven for thinking that this page is about antispamlaw.

And incidentially - you are forgiven!

Generous, what!

Problem is is not really about antispam law because I don’t know the first thing about spam or the laws that govern it.

But, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal as well as a pain in the necktie.

Anti spam law is the sort of law you may enact if you wanted to stop spam. You may want to stop spam software from creating excessive spam.

Clearly, I don’t have the first idea of what I’m talking about so why, you may ask (Have you asked?) am I doing so.

Simple.

I did a linkdomain:spam-spam.com on Yahoo and I was shocked to discover a number of links that I did not know about and then it dawned on me….

When I registered my lovely, shiny, brand new spam-spam.com domain IT WAS NOT LOVELY, IT WAS NOT SHINY AND IT WAS NOT BRAND NEW.

ITS AN OLD SPAMMY LEMON.

SORRY FOR THE EXCESSIVE CAPS - i PUT CAPS LOCK ON SOME TIME AGO AND BECAUSE i LOST THE PINKY ON THE LEFT HAN IN A BLENDER INCIDENT SOME YEARS AGO ITS NOT EASY TO TURN OFF. Fortunately, I can use my nose.

Anywho, turns out some SHONKER, who is unrelated to me used to own this domain. I suspect it’s not longer owned by them for the following reasons

  • It made no money
  • They were genuine spammers
  • They ‘bad neighbourhood’ed it
  • It’s utterly worthless

Fantastic.

No wonder Google doesn’t want to know me.

If you want to know anything about antispam law I would suggest that you seek the advice of WikiPedia who clearly know a lot more about spam and the CAN-SPAM act than I do.

Thanks for listening - it’s been a difficult day.

I’ve paid $6.50 for a domain that could well be worthless. [If I knew anything about .wav files or video’s - this is the point I’d cue the sound of me softly weeping]

Have a stonker!

Jolly Shonker.
